| General Information: | Start Building your Hardback Book Collection without making expensive mistakes NOW. Even If You Don't Know Anything About Collecting.Learn how to make your love of books into a financial investment.
There are NOT many individuals who would be willing to take a novice and give him the basic knowledge and tools to succeed in anything. Well, I just love being different! They say that when a student is ready, the teacher will appear. Well, you do not have to wait any longer! Please take the time to read this thoroughly, as this contains information on how you can turn your existing bookcase of books into a collection that can be sold for top dollar to help support your retirement earnings, send your child to college or even fund that well deserved dream vacation that you have always been planning. That's right. You can take your love of books to the point where it will be helping you and your loved ones prepare for a better future. Hardback Books: A Beginners Guide to Collecting Let's face it, a well-stocked bookshelf can not only give you hours of reading enjoyment, but it can also be a source of emergency cash should the need ever arise. But how does the average reader know even where to start? If you are like most people, no one ever took you by the hand and taught you just how to purchase books that will have the potential to be sold 5 to 10 years down the road to give you back 10, 50, 100 or even 1000 times as much as you purchased it for. No one ever said, go purchase that book by that new author J. K. Rowlings named Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. If you did have someone tell you that, then 5 years ago you would have bought a book for $16.95 and sold it today (5 years later) for an easy $3,500.00! Or if you would have bought the UK Edition for 10.99 pounds you would be able to sell it today for $35,000.00! Yep, Thirty Five Thousand dollars! Even if you waited two years before you purchased it, you still would have spent under $40.00. When the third Harry Potter book came out, everybody was beginning to talk about the series and advising their friends and family to go get the books. Well, if you were like most people, you just went down to the bookstore and purchased a copy off the shelf. You never knew that you had to look at the copyright page to find out which of the books was worth purchasing and which ones to leave alone. You now purchased a book that at this time is not even worth what you paid for it! But had you known what to look for, you may well have purchased that now, well sought after, elusive first printing. If you picked it up out of pure luck, congratulations! If not, I hope you feel that the story was worth the money you paid. I'm sure you are saying to yourself, "We'll that's great IF I had known...but I didn't! So what's the point?" Well, the point is, you may have valuable books already in your book collection that you are unaware of. Wouldn't it be great if you knew which ones were the collectibles and which ones were not? Wouldn't you like to know how you can get rid of the worthless books and replace them with the same book, only this one is worth much more than what you paid for it? Wouldn't it be great if you could go down to the bookstore and look at five books, all of the same title, and bring home the only one that is worth more than the purchase price or soon will be? That is exactly what I'd like to teach you! Basically, what I'd like to do is hold your hand for a while and show you what to look for when purchasing hardback books. Every month, I sell hundreds of books worth thousands of dollars on eBay, the internet and my home. Many of the items are for my customers! 90% of the customers that I sell for are beginning book collectors or book collectors who are finally learning how to purchase only the collectible version on any book that they may want not only for the status of ownership, but also as an investment for either their own future or the future of their loved ones. How are they learning? By asking questions, of course! Guess who took the time to answer them? Right! Let me say that of the 90% of the customers that I sell for, as well as many, many others customers, they all have asked basically the same questions. These questions, once answered, can turn a novice book collector, or anybody for that matter, into an individual who can start purchasing books knowing that they are building a library of worth... instead of just a library of books. They may contain the same books but they are vastly different! At this point let me introduce myself. My name is Gary L. Reynolds, N.D, and I have been selling hardback, collectible books on eBay for 3 years and on the internet for 6 years. I have been collecting books for over 20 years! My Business, Reynolds Books and Information Services, specializes in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. We concentrate on U.S. and U.K. First Editions and First Printings, including books signed by the authors. We also try to keep Limited Editions, Advanced Reading Copies (ARC), Uncorrected Proofs, Galleys and Easton Press Editions available. Over the years I have learned that books that have collectible qualities will always bring back a much higher return then the regular run of the mill version of the same book, even if the collectible version is in worse condition. Until now, the novice book collector would make countless and costly mistakes while purchasing worthless copies of books from unscrupulous or unknowing dealers. It could take years of a novice collector's time and money to be spent before he or she was able to find that single person, whether a book dealer or not, to sit them down and show then the ropes.
This is a perfect part time business anyone can make money at. Anyone with a computer, a digital camera and the desire to have an antiques and collectibles business can make a living selling on eBay. Because you don't need a store, you can set your own hours. You can work at night, or in the afternoon. Work whenever you want. With my eBay Consignment System you will start your business selling other people's stuff. You won't need to risk your own money buying things hoping to sell them for a profit. You won't have to risk spending more for an antique than you sell it for because you don't buy items. You'll sell someone else's stuff and keep a percentage of the profits. After you learn more about specific categories of items you can buy things you know will bring you profits to sell. Selling items on consignment is a great way to learn what stuff is worth. Can You Answer These Questions? Do you know what to look for in a hardback book? Can you look at a book and determine it's Grade? What is the difference between a First Edition and a Second Edition of the same book? What is a Point of Issue? What information is found on the copyright page... other than the year it was published? Are Book Club Editions worth collecting? What is quarter Bound? Can you take information out of a price guide and determine the value of the book you are looking at that is in a different Grade? How do you remove an ink stamp from the page block? What things should you keep your books away from? If You Could NOT Answer All Of These Questions, Then Hardback Books Is For You. You'll learn: How to determine what the Grade of both Books and Dustjackets. How to determine if a book is a First Printing or not. What the different parts of a book are used for and what they can tell you. How to decide which book at the bookstore is worth the money. Where to look to determine if a book is a first Edition. How to tell the difference between a regular edition, a book club Edition and a Book of the Month Edition. Where to store your books for the best preservation of worth. How to clean a book without destroying it's value. How to use points of issue to determine if a book is a first printing. How to determine first printings of 100 publishing houses. (The chart alone is worth 10 times the amount of the book!) And much, much more.
